Pregnancy yoga is one of the most nurturing things you can do for your body and your baby in the prenatal period. Not only does it help to build your strength as your body grows and changes but it also gives you vital tools to help with your labour (whatever sort of birth you plan or end up having) and postnatal recovery.
For those who don’t have time to attend a series of pregnancy classes or for second time mothers needing a pregnancy yoga “refresher”, I offer private and small group workshops. We will practice pregnancy specific asana (physical postures) to build strength and and stability as well as movement and postures that address specific pregnancy issues such as pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome.
We also learn some beautiful breathing practices that calm the mind and allow you to really connect with your baby. This breath work also gives you techniques to manage pain in labour and to assist with birthing your baby.
