Pre-natal yoga is empowering and helps women to feel prepared and confident about their pregnancy and labour. Practicing yoga in pregnancy can keep you strong, calm and help you bond with your baby.
In this class, as well as going through yoga flow sequences, we practice breathing techniques to use in pregnancy, in labour and in the postnatal period. Each class ends with a lovely relaxation – a great way to go into the rest of your weekend. We all have tea together afterwards. It is a fabulous way to meet other pregnant women in the area and many firm friendships have been formed in this class.
The class is suitable for all pregnant women in their second and third trimesters. Classes in Shrewsbury run all throughout the year but are organised into 5 week blocks. Do contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more.

Yoga flow sequences to ease the body and calm the mind.
Would you like learn yoga practices and flow sequences that you’ll be able to do at home? Would you like to practice using simple breathing techniques to calm yourself and your children down? Would you like to find ways to rest when resting seems impossible?
I’m teaching this class to revive new and not so new mums and to show you ways to incorporate more yoga into your lives. This is a chance to do some movement and breathing and to take a moment to look after yourselves. It is also a chance for some of you to catch up with friends from pregnancy yoga classes.
In this class we will use gentle yoga postures to realign the body, tone the deep abdominals and pelvic floor muscles and start to rebuild strength. We’ll also use breathing practices to tone from the inside out and to calm both mums and babies.
You are welcome to stay in the room after class to feed your babies or to buy a coffee or a cake from the cafe.

I recently launched a new monthly Friday evening event at the Shrewsbury Buddhist Centre – Flow Club – an extended yoga-flow practice to an uplifting soundtrack followed by guided relaxation, snacks and warming chai tea.
The next Flow Club will take place on Friday 6 March, 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets sell quickly so please book in early if you don’t want to miss out.

BESPOKE ONE-TO-ONE PRACTICE PLANS and POST NATAL ONE-TO-ONE PRACTICE PLANS
Many of my students ask me how they should go about establishing a home practice. What many of us need is simply a little guidance and support in how to get started. So I’ve just started offering a new service, creating bespoke home practice plans.
I work with you, at a time that suits, in a 60 minute, one-to-one session at your home.
During that time, I’ll try and establish what you are looking for in a home practice and we’ll go through postures, flow sequences and breathing practices together. Afterwards, I will follow up by sending you a personalised plan. I’m then around for a follow up phone call or email for any questions about the plan and to see how you are getting on.
It can be particularly useful during the postnatal period (and early years of motherhood) to make sure you are practicing in a way that is serving your body well.
